COVID–19 PANDEMIC

NEW ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE 2020 DISTRIBUTION GATHERING
in light of current restrictions by many countries on travel,
and meeting in groups
And an announcement about the
2021 Distribution cycle

COVID–19

Date: 27 April 2020

As with most other organisation and companies, Foundation for the Nations has been greatly affected by the current lockdown restrictions in place in most countries of the world.

The main effect has been the necessity to postpone the 2020 Distribution Gathering.  This was to have taken place between 5–8 May.  We thought about organising a virtual Gathering, but we and our Board felt that meeting face–to–face was much preferable, if at all possible.

The postponed Gathering has therefore been rescheduled.  The new dates are 6–9 October, God willing – still at The Cove, the Billy Graham Training & Conference centre in North Carolina.

If the travel and meeting restrictions are still in place towards the end of the summer, we will go to Plan B – a virtual meeting of the Funding Partners.

We understand that this will make ministry difficult for several of those who have been told they are getting awards this year, and we are currently doing a Google survey to identify any projects that need to change – either dates, or budgets, or perhaps to pull out altogether for this year.

As far as 2021 is concerned, we see no reason currently to change our usual operating procedures, so the application window will open as usual on 1st October 2020, and will close at 5.00pm UK time on Friday the 15th January 2021.

However, we are currently looking at ways to spread the FFTN “pot” of finances around a greater number of YFC entities, so watch this space for
